Application of IGBT in Welding Machine

There are mainly two control modes for IGBT in welding machines, one is hard switching and the other is soft switching. The biggest difference between the two is that in soft switching theory, IGBT does not have switching losses, only conduction losses. As for China, currently hard switching is mainly achieved directly using pulse transformers, while soft switching is mostly achieved using mainstream soft switching technology. However, due to deviations in circuit design and drift in device performance, some customers have turned their originally designed soft switch technology into a semi soft and semi hard switch welding machine. Based on test results and practical application experience, this type of welding machine is more suitable for using IGBT modules with hard switches. The topology structure used for IGBT in welding machines is different and can be divided into full bridge welding machines and half bridge welding machines. The half bridge welding machine is a hard switch welding machine. The application of the STA module in welding machines is as follows (recommended default switch frequency of 20KHz, three-phase 380V power supply).
